One of the benefits of owning a holiday home in Shropshire, aside from the magnificent views, is that there is so much to do and explore. Seven Oaks Holiday Home Park is perfectly placed between the Shropshire and Wales border and there are many things to do in Shropshire whilst you stay at your holiday home.

Haughmond Hill, just on the outskirts of Shrewsbury, is a popular walking trail for both visitors and locals alike. The hill itself is surrounded by a large area of woodland briming with nature and wildlife to explore. The area offers light walking trails for all abilities and provides stunning views of Shropshire. After a morning of walking, you can grab a bite at The Haughmond or take a picnic and stop at one of the many picnic benches and enjoy your lunch whilst getting close to nature.

Seven Oaks is a dog friendly caravan park site with a dog exercise area, but if you are looking for somewhere to take your pups out for the day then there are some great areas for dog walking in Shropshire. Nesscliffe Hills, just 15 minutes away from the park, is 70 hectares in size. The two wooded hills provide visitors with stunning views of the Welsh hills and the Shropshire countryside. Adventures in this expansive area are perfect for dog walkers.

Golfing

Ludlow

Those who enjoy culture and history will feel at home in the Shropshire medieval market town, Ludlow. A cultural melting pot with grand architecture, this town is vibrant and bustling, often hosting several events and festivals throughout the year. Known for its excellent locally made food and drink, Ludlow’s Food and Drink Festival is enjoyed by people from all over the UK. As well as the town itself, Ludlow Castle, dating back to the 11th century, is a must-see day out in Shropshire.

Fishing

For keen anglers there are two well-stocked fishing lakes on the park, which are also perfect spots for those who are not into fishing but enjoy a place to relax and unwind. Outside of the park there is an abundance of areas to fish in Shropshire, including an idyllic 3-acre lake in Shrewsbury.

Bowls

Bowls is a popular sport in Shropshire with the historic Shropshire premier bowls league being at the heart of the county. The Seven Oaks Park includes a bowling green for all residents to enjoy and you’ll often be able to take part in bowling competitions – which can often get competitive!

Seaside

If you fancy a day at the beach then the seaside holiday resort, Barmouth, is just an hour away. This large North Wales beach is home to a stunning harbour and the famous Barmouth Bridge. The beach is ideal for beach lovers of all ages, large enough for quiet space to lie back in the sun peacefully and watch the world go by or enjoy seaside chips and ice cream!
